About Kathy Carroll...
In my professional life I have been a teacher, counselor, coach, and administrator.
The one common thread in all these roles was my passion for coaching individuals to set goals and work towards these goals.
In the process of setting goals, it was my experience that the students and adults I was working with would usually achieve the goals but, as importantly, they would discover things about themselves that weren’t even a part of the initial goal.
Two years ago I decided that there was a whole world outside of the education system and I “left” the schools and opened a private counseling practice.
It was a huge change for me as I am a third generation educator. Scary but I wouldn’t change a thing……(ok, so maybe the benefits were good) Over the past two years my counseling practice has evolved to a Life Coaching practice. I was introduced to the Martha Beck coaching program through my sister in law and feel that I am doing the work I was born to do. Writing that feels a bit dramatic but it is true!
There are many experiences, joyful and painful that I believe are part of the human condition. I have experienced much of what you may be going though. Just a few I want to share:
- The joys and challenges of parenting
- Feeling passionate about my vocation and then feeling tired and burnt out.
- Losing both parents- one to Alzheimer’s disease
- Blending a family
My Philosphy,Education & Training
I believe that most people are inherently capable, caring, and seeking connections. All of us experience times in our lives when our confidence is challenged or shaken.
We may lose our focus or realize what we have been working towards has left us unfulfilled. Perhaps you are wondering “what the heck am I doing?” or “How do I want to live the rest of my life?”
At different times we all struggle to achieve connections both to ourselves and to others. Together we will discover what needs to shift and what behaviors and beliefs you need to get rid of.
I believe the answers to your questions are within you. My job as a coach is to help you with the questions.
